Hello everyone!
I think until now I have never though about my study programme (all of it) because this is my first year at university. over this year I realized that my study programme is very old! Because of that the psychology study programme is in an curricular innovation process and the opinion of all students is being taken into account.
That situation makes me think about my current subjects: Social History of Chile, Philosophy, Psychology, Anthropology, Social Research Methodology and Psychobiology. I think that the 6 of it are necessary to have an integral formation as a psychologist but maybe Social History I would reduce it to a unit inside other subject because I think that the essence of psychology is lost in one semester of Social History because only in the past class of this subject I understood why are we studying that.
About the next subjects I will not talk because I don't know really well if they are good or necessary. But I will refer to things that I think the career needs and that would be instances to develop our emotional intelligences during all the career, not only in the final practice, because if we have the opportunity to develop that maybe the career would become easier in some aspects and really meaningful.
In respect of workload this semester I don't think that it were too much, but I see my friends of second and third year really tired so I think the workload must be reduced. About lenght of studies they are okey, the hours a week are enough and the 5 years of career are perfect.
The faculty gives all the facilities with computers, books and Wi-Fi to do the work and study. And other thing that I love it's the technology in the classrooms with microphones and projectors. I don't have a class that needs a lot of technology (like labs or something like that) yet.
About the teaching methods all my professors are really good but some of them don't use microphone so it's really hard to listen well in a classroom with 120 students or they talk too fast and I lose the track of the class. But despite of that things I'm happy with my professors and the way they do their classes.
So I think that it's very clear that despite a few things I'm really happy with my career (and study programme haha). I love psychology!
I´m so happy with the professors too, they are very good teachers
